The Biden administration recently proposed changing the location of the nutrition label on food packages to bring it to the front. 

In a 44-page report released by the White House, changing the food label location was one of many initiatives shared as part of an overall solution to increase nutrition literacy in America and end hunger and diet-related diseases.

The strategy also suggests that “healthy” claims on food packages must have more nutritious criteria to back them up. As well as proposes star ratings or “traffic light schemes” to make nutrition information very clear and accessible to all. For example, the traffic light signals that green is a healthier option, while red is a less nutritious choice.
